The 2024 MA Personal Finance Challenge testing window is open January 1st - March 31st, 2025. 

 

The Massachusetts Council, a program of Councll for Economic Education, is proud to once again organize the online Spring 2025 Massachusetts Personal Finance Challenge for high school students. 

Here's the schedule for the 2025 MA Personal Finance Challenge:

  • January 1st, 2025 - Registration opens for the Massachusetts Personal Finance Challenge.
  • January 1st - March 31st, 2025 - The Massachusetts Personal Finance Challenge Competition is open and available ONLINE!  The 35-minute student competition is taken online at schools under the supervision of their teacher or approved proctor.  Empower your students to join hundreds of MA high school students across the state in this exciting (and free!) online personal finance challenge.
  • April 2nd, 2025 - The Massachusetts high school winning teams will be announced.
  • April 15th, 2025 - The Massachusetts State Finals will be held.
  • June 1st - 2nd, 2025 - The National Personal Finance Challenge FINALS will be held Atlanta, GA. The top-scoring high school team from each state will be invited to attend.
  • Teachers - Register your students starting on January 1st, 2025 and form your student teams. The testing window opens the very same day - share the testing codes with individual students so that they can take the Challenge online under your supervision during the testing period.
  • Students - Study hard! The Personal Finance Challenge ONLINE! will test you and your knowledge of personal finance. It's a great opportunity to achieve state recognition for your accomplishments.

Every high school student in Massachusetts is invited to compete in the 2025 Personal Finance Challenge with the support of their teacher. Teachers can create as many student teams as they'd like (3-4 students per team). The online finance challenge is free for all Massachusetts teachers and their students.

Good luck to all our student competitors! The 2025 MA Personal Finance Challenge ONLINE! is a great way to flex your intellectual muscles and participate with students from across Massachusetts in an exciting and fun competition.

The Massachusetts Council offers professional development in economic and financial literacy using resources provided by the Council for Economic Education, and serves as a resource for teachers and communities in their immediate geographic areas.

Engage your students by participating in the National Personal Finance Challenge (NPFC), a fun and motivating team competition that provides high school students with the opportunity to get financially savvy and demonstrate their money management skills.

The NPFC is free, easy to sign up for, and offers materials to make coaching easy. Our NPFC toolkit provides personal finance lessons, activities, videos, and quizzes to help you and your team be successful!

Note: There’s no limit on the number of teams you can enter in Round 1. Use the NPFC as a way to ignite your students’ interest in personal finance as a fun and engaging classroom or club activity!
