Promoting Economic Education
The Nebraska Council on Economic Education is a non-profit organization housed within the University of Nebraska — Lincoln College of Business Administration that has a separate Board of Trustees composed of state civic and business leaders. Directed by Jennifer Daivdson, who is an assistant professor of practice in the Department of Economics, and supported by the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, it obtains most of its resources from private contributions and grants that fund statewide projects to improve economic and financial literacy through its five affiliated centers for economic education (UNL, UNO, UNK, Wayne State, and Chadron State).
The Council makes a vital contribution to economic literacy and economic development in the state, is recognized as one of the top five of the 50 state councils in the nation, and is affiliated with the National Council on Economic Education, the leading non-profit organization advancing economic and financial literacy.
The Council represents a unique partnership of public and private organizations that provides great credibility and recognition within Nebraska and across the nation because of its outstanding record and contribution to improving economic and financial literacy.
