The Rules
All students and teachers must adhere to the following rules to ensure a fair and successful competition:
1. Proctoring:
The exam must be proctored by the teacher or advisor.
2. Individual Testing:
Each student must take the exam independently—no collaboration or group work is allowed.
3. No Outside Materials:
Students are not permitted to use any external materials or aids (e.g., calculators) during the exam.
4. Teacher/Advisor Role:
Teachers or advisors may not assist students by rephrasing or explaining questions
Scoring:
- Each correct answer earns 10 points.
- A team's final score is the sum of the top three individual scores. If a team has four members, the lowest score will not be counted.
- The maximum individual score is 300 points, and the maximum team score is 900 points.
Accessing Scores:
Once testing is complete, teachers can log into their team profile to view individual and team scores.
Team Ranking and Results:
- After the Challenge concludes, teachers of the top 8 teams will be notified via email by April 2nd, 2025. These teams will advance to the in-person New York State Finals on April 11th, 2025, with the location to be determined.
- The winning team from the New York State Finals will be contacted by the Council for Economic Education to confirm their attendance at the National Finals in Atlanta, GA.
