Missouri Personal Finance Challenge Rules
Competition Divisions:
- High School Division: for students enrolled in a high school level personal finance course or other financial education

Middle School Division: for students enrolled in a middle school level personal finance coure or other financial education.
Completing the Challenge:
- Students must compete in teams of 3-4 students.
- When it is time for students to complete the challenge, they will go to http://financechallenge.unl.edu/ and select Missouri. They they will select "Student Access" and enter their unique access code that was assigned to them. They will then complete a short identification and challenge integrity confirmation before they begin the challenge. - Once started, each student will have 35 minutes to complete the online exam, and all team members must complete the exam within the same 3 hour window.
- The online exam cannot be paused and students cannot skip questions.
- Students must complete the online exam without any assistance or aids.

This year's state challenge is open for students during March 16 - April 4, 2025.
Challenge Exam:
- The challenge consists of an online exam with 30 multiple-choice questions covering the following topics:
- Earning Income
- Buying Goods and Services
- Protecting and Insuring
- Using Credit
- Saving & Financial Investing
- Individual Exam Scoring:
- +10 points for each correct answer
- 0 points for each incorrect answer
- Team Scoring: the sum of the top three individual scores on each team make up the team score.
Determining the State Champion

The State Champion team in Missouri will be determined as the highest-scoring team on the online exam. In case of a tie, the team completing the exam in the shortest time will be designated as the State Champion.

The State Champion team will be invited to participate in the National Personal Finance Challenge Finals. Support for travel to the national competition is not guaranteed, so teams should consider their ability to participate.
